Background

C. E. Hill & Co.(UK) Ltd was established in 1982, using the power of the then micro computer to help businesses plan their future. We are still a highly computerised practice. Since then we have become involved with a variety of owner managed businesses, sole traders, partnerships and limited companies preparing annual accounts, dealing with corporate and personal tax, helping them to plan and improve their profits and in some cases with the sale of the business they have created.

 

Our Team

Edmund Hill BSc, FCA (Managing Director)

Edmund uses an analytical and practical approach to help businesses think, plan and control their future. This stems from his science(chemistry) background, accountancy training (a top London firm), business knowledge and business experience.After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant Edmund worked in the venture capital, retail and property sectors.  After starting this practice in 1982 his experience has been gained by setting up running, managing and selling businesses. This approach has proved to be successful not only by increasing trading profits but also by enhancing the value realised when businesses have been sold.

Edmund enjoys flying, he has a private pilots licence, a night rating and an instruments (IMC) rating.  He reflects “I wouldn’t start a flight without a flight plan its equally important to have your business and life plan.”

Damian Hill ACCA (Client manager)

Damian started working for us in 1998 and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2004.  Damian advises our small and medium sized businesses in general accounting and taxation matters.  Damian likes tax and helps clients to understand and plan ahead to (minimise their tax liability) maximise there tax opportunities.  Damian specialises helping clients (using the tools he has gained) to make better use of their accounts and management information to manage their business.

Damian is married with two young daughters, in his limited spare time he he enjoys rugby, listening to music, films and socialise with friends.

Brian Howard B.Sc. (Trainee Accountant)

Brian is one of our new recruits to the company. Recently graduating in business administration and finance, he enjoys working within the varying aspects of the multifaceted UK tax and accounting system. He is currently training for the ACCA qualification. Brian is an avid sports fan and enjoys a variety of music.
